Mama shelter

Hotel sexy et design dans l'est Parisien
  1. A French take on an Anglo art hotel concept in a *bobo-friendly but non-touristic area – great communal spaces, lots of art and ironic board games are ubiquitous. Great roof top in summer.
  2. The first hotel by the hip boutique design group Mama Shelter  the interior design by Philippe Starck has laid the groundwork for the hotel’s aesthetic approach. Playful and with a touch of retro but thought through to create a total aesthetic experience…that’s the Mama Shelter way.

Choosing the 20th is like choosing to stay in Brooklyn while in NYC. It’s the entirely central but it’s where cool Parisians live. Highlights include the Parc des Buttes Chaumont (and its cool bar Rosa Bonheur), the Pere La Chaise Cemetary (Jim Morrisson’s grave is a stoned backpacker’s magnet), the bohemian and rather eccentric performance space La Bellevilloise or the indie rock venue La Fleche D’Or. For eating, drinking and shopping head to Rue de la Roquette and just follow it along.
  3. We love the rooftop terrace and the big dining spaces. We think the hotel offers good value for money. And we like the neighbourhood – it’s not your typical touristic enclave, but rather a real Parisian quartier where people live.
